Hi everybody. Sorry I have been M.I.A. for so long-things have been nuts! My boss is out of the country for a few weeks and I'm in charge during a heavy crunch time at work, Charley and I are on the dragon boat race team (ice cream is the fuel of champs),
I've been reading a lot (not shocking, I know), finishing up a Reverse Mentoring program,
hosting a fundraiser for a women's shelter next weekend with Stella and Dot,
attending Frenchie birthday parties,
and a BBQ and Blues festival.
On top of all that, we're getting everything ready for Halloween (yes I start months in advance) and doing some little home improvement projects like painting side tables for the sun porch and getting plants for everywhere-I've been really into snake plants lately. Also, been really into Jane Austen and Jane Austen-related movies like Austenland (hysterical/love Keri Russell/Mr. Nobely just stop) and The Jane Austen Book Club (such an amazing cast and great discussion).
The book I just finished was A Good Year by Peter Mayle. He's an excellent writer especially if you love anything and everything French. He makes me want to pop a bottle of red, sit on the porch, and put my face to the sun. The novel is about a down on his luck businessman from London who inherit's his uncle's vineyard and home. It's not a book to change your life or a long read but definitely something enjoyable for you to turn to during the week. I'd recommend making yourself a nice a la provence meal for the night and settling in with some wine. I'd give it a 7.5/10
What have y'all been up to?! What are you reading?
