30A Catch Up

hope y'all are having a fantastic weekend! Charley and I bounced out of Atlanta for the weekend to celebrate the end of tax season and are spending some much needed relaxation time on 30A.

Even when the weather is stormy, this place is still our favorite place to be.

Friday night, we went to dinner at Paradis in Rosemary Beach. Such a neat vibe and the food was amazing! Our favorites were the Diver Scallops served over wild mushroom risotto with a carrot beurre balance and the line caught grouper in a smoked tomato beurre blanc served over lobster mac and cheese. Sorry for the lack of pics, I blacked out when the food came and nommed everything before I thought about it.

Sunday, we walked Louis on the beach and went to the farmers market in Seaside. We grabbed two batches of salsa, pickled okra, and a chocolate croissant.

As always, we stopped by Sundog Books and picked up some more reads for the ever-growing collection.

Pooks and I typically don't like modern architecture and I thought his "ew modern" face was hysterical.

Saturday was also National Record Store Day so we ran upstairs to Central Square Records where I found this awesome 7 year pen. I figured it'll be great for journaling about Peru and a sustainable move for someone who is constantly taking notes.

We spent the rest of the trip reading and in a closet avoiding a tornado but hey, life's an adventure, right? Let the countdown to Peru begin-we leave in 10 days!

As for a follow up on "Turn Right at Machu Picchu," it was a great book if you're into the nitty gritty and facts of history. I really enjoyed the author's personal account of the trip but I felt like the writing got bogged down in the middle of the book. Have you read it? Thoughts? Starting a new book tonight, "The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry." Who's joining me?!

Thanks, love, and life devoured.
